Early Closing!

The most recent update on the BBC weather site for our area forecasts heavy snow falls from 1pm (13h00) until at least 3pm (15h00).  Because many of our pupils and teachers travel substantial distances to their homes, we have decided to close early to help all to avoid the traffic disruption likely to accompany the snow. We will close at 12.30 for both primary and secondary schools and Highfield Preschool. We will try to have the prepared meals planned for today served early so that pupils can either eat early or take the cartons home with them.
Parents who travel far and are concerned about getting home before 1pm are welcome to come to school earlier than 12.30 to collect their children.

There will not be table tennis club this afternoon.

Y7 Consultation.  We will wait to see travel conditions in the late afternoon before making a decision about Y7 parent consultation planned for tonight. Y7 Parents, please don't leave for the meeting this evening before checking this site.

I am sorry for the inconvenience caused by this decision, but we are trying to avoid having parents and pupils stuck on the roads in difficult conditions.
We are advised that the lanes between Junction 9 and Kinsbourne Green are very slippery and should be avoided.
